ABOUT THE ROLE

This position will work with students who are deaf, blind, deaf-blind, or have multiple disabilities to provide a safe and effective educational environment for students with challenging behaviors. Disabilities may include vision and/or hearing impairment, intellectual disabilities, Cerebral Palsy, autism, or other disabilities. This position will be directly responsible for intensive crisis and behavioral management, as well as behavioral support service delivery, including hands-on intervention.

You will play a vital role in ensuring that AIDB's culture of inclusion is reinforced by developing interventions that promote the provision of comprehensive educational services to sensory-impaired children. Through a collaborative team approach, you will provide services and support that champion the limitless potential of all individuals.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis, Special Education, Social Work, or Criminal Justice.

Experience providing behavior management services.

Experience in selection, administration, scoring, and interpretation of individual assessments related to evaluating behavior.

Experience providing training and facilitating workshops.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master's degree in Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis, Special Education, Social Work, or Criminal Justice.

Experience working with individuals with sensory impairments and multiple disabilities.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Assist the IEP team with conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA), developing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP), and conducting follow-up observations and data collection to determine the effectiveness of the plans.

Work collaboratively with the BCBA to assist with ABA assessments and promote evidence-based behavior-analytic techniques.

Collaborate effectively with school personnel and related service providers to enhance positive behavioral support for students, focusing on preventive and proactive strategies.

Provide accurate and relevant documentation on students being discussed or attending appointments or meetings, including Human Rights Committee, Psychiatric Clinic, and Wraparound Team Meetings. Additionally, provide follow-up on all recommendations made during these meetings

Maintain high ethical standards and confidentiality throughout all duties.

Maintain accurate and detailed behavior data, including documentation from observations, entered into the designated electronic documentation and data management system.

Provide support with other RISE initiatives.

Comply with all AIDB policies and procedures regarding well-being and student safety.

Complete the Managing Crisis Safely program or other crisis prevention program as designated by the administration within the first three months of employment.

Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include nights and weekends.

Must be willing to travel statewide, as needed.

A sign language proficiency level of SURVIVAL according to the AIDB evaluation system must be obtained within the first twelve months of employment, and INTERMEDIATE within the first thirty-six months of employment.

Must complete AIDB online training on Deafness, Blindness, Visual Impairments, DeafBlindness, and Multiple Disabilities within twelve months of hire.

Upon the offer of employment, the applicant must submit to a fingerprint background check at an agency designated by AIDB and paid for by AIDB.

SALARY: $50,974.11 - $68,040.23 D2 Scale 54 Rank 197 Days

Direct deposit is required.

This is an exempt position, and is not subject to overtime or compensatory provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
