The Administrative Assistant II will be mature, self-motivated, practice good organizational skills and have the ability to exercise sound judgement with minimal supervision. The Administrative Assistant II will handle sensitive and restricted information in a professional and confidential manner and provide clerical support by preparing memoranda, correspondence, and reports as needed.

This will be accomplished by demonstrating flexibility, positive attitude and professional maturity.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Possess a high school diploma or GED.
- A minimum of three years of successful clerical/office experience.
- Possess general knowledge of computers and software programs including Microsoft Office Suite and Google G-Suite including Calendar, Sheets, Docs, and Drive.
- Be flexible in dealing with work assignments and unexpected interruptions.
- Obtain a sign language proficiency level of Survival Plus according to the AIDB evaluation system within the first twelve (12) months and Intermediate in the first thirty-six (36) months of employment.
- Complete AIDB online training on Deafness, Blindness, DeafBlindness, and Multiple Disabilities within the first twelve (12) months of employment.
- Complete Orientation to Blindness in-service training within the first twenty-four (24) months of employment.
- Possess or obtain Braille competency of 70% or better on the AIDB Braille Skills Assessment Inventory within the first twenty-four (24) months of employment.
- Upon offer of employment, the applicant must submit to a fingerprint background check at an agency designated and paid by AIDB.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Provide administrative support to the Director of Extended Day.
- Learn to adapt work flow to accommodate individuals who are Blind, Deaf, DeafBlind, or Multidisabled.
- Maintain files, budgets, inventories, and personnel records.
- Facilitate requests for travel and travel reimbursement.
- Submit and track IT and Central Maintenance work orders while assisting with quarterly inspections and subsequent paperwork.
- Prepare purchase requisitions, order materials and supplies, maintain copies of all orders sent, receive purchase orders from purchasing department, and distribute to appropriate staff.
- Assist in the planning and coordination of departmental and campus-wide student and/or staff events.
- Assist with the orientation of new employees to AIDB policies and procedures, paperwork requirements and deadlines.
- Assist with Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) accreditation.
- Maintain calendars, schedule meetings, and take minutes.
- Monitor daily staff work schedules and leave requests.
- Attend ongoing professional development and in-service programs.
- Perform other duties as required.
SALARY: $17.78 - $20.81 per hour Scale S5 Rank 35
Direct deposit is required.
260 Days
This is a non-exempt position and is subject to overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
