The Community Outreach Licensed Practical Nurse position is responsible for providing nursing services in communities within Alabama under the COVID-19 Community Outreach initiative.

ABOUT YOU

You will play a vital role in supporting the COVID-19 Community Outreach initiative. You will work within a team, displaying a positive, approachable and professional demeanor in providing nursing services within the communities of Alabama.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Unencumbered, Alabama Licensed Practical Nurse license
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Computer literacy and competency in use of existing technology
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience in community or public health preferred.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Provides direct nursing services, e. COVID-19 vaccinations in a positive manner to enhance the health and wellness of the community.
  • Helps maintain data for reporting.
  • Assist with community education programs.
  • Adequately stock and maintain supplies, medication and equipment to ensure availability for use.
  • Must be willing to travel and work a flexible schedule to include early mornings, late afternoons, holidays, nights, and weekends, as required.
  • Functions within the framework of the Alabama Nursing Practice Act.
  • Complies with federal, state, internal policies, administrative guidelines, mandates, and regulations that impact nursing.
  • Must obtain a sign language proficiency level of SURVIVAL according to the AIDB evaluation system within thirty-six (36) months.
  • Must complete AIDB online training on Deafness, Blindness, Visual Impairments, DeafBlindness and Multiple Disabilities within first twelve (12) months of hire.
  • Upon offer of employment, the applicant must submit to a fingerprint background check at an agency designated and paid by AIDB

REPORTS TO: Community Outreach Coordinator

SALARY: $ 15.63- $20.15 Scale NL Rank LP

260-day position

Bi-monthly Payroll

Direct deposit is required.

This position is funded by a grant award, funded by revenue generated, necessary for compliance or provides direct service delivery.

This is an exempt position, and is not subject to overtime or compensatory provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
