ABOUT THIS POSITION:This position is for working as a substitute teacher aide for the RISE Together Preschool and Short-Term Programs departments located on AIDB North in Decatur, Alabama. This position will assist with summer and school-year courses.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or GED.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience working with children with disabilities.

Experience in an educational or childcare setting.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs duties in the absence of full time AIDB staff as required for position including, but not limited to the following:

Must be able to physically assist students in wheelchairs and/or students with physical disabilities as their needs dictate, including the ability to lift fifty (50) pounds.

Must work cooperatively with other departmental personnel to serve students.

Must assume responsibility for assisting in the classroom when an AIDB staff member is absent.

Must follow all AIDB policies and procedures as well as applicable state and federal laws.

Must remain awake and alert at all times.

Must be able to handle emergency situations in a calm manner.

Must adhere to confidentiality requirements.

Other duties as assigned.

Upon being offered employment, the applicant must submit to a fingerprint background check at an agency designated and paid by AIDB."

SALARY: $10.20 Scale S1 Rank HS

Direct deposit is required.
