The Marketing and Community Relations Coordinator role will assist in developing and building a strategic and integrated digital marketing/community relations plan for AIDB that meets institutional branding standards and presents engaging and contemporary website and social media messaging through innovative content and multiple platforms. The Marketing and Community Relations Coordinator will also identify industry best practices for current and future implementation of website and digital marketing efforts for AIDB and the AIDB Foundation.

ABOUT YOU

You will join a high-functioning team and contribute immediately by supporting our media planning, web, social media, and editorial needs. You will play a vital role in shaping public opinion of AIDB and promoting our Deaf. Blind. Limitless.-brand. You will display a positive, approachable and professional demeanor, serving as a point of contact for the news media, general public and AIDB departments.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations, Communications or Marketing from an accredited college or university or three (3) years of experience in public relations or communications may substitute for a college degree.

  • Must be proficient in the use of computer technology, website platforms, word processing, publishing/design, data management, and photography.

  • Must exhibit exceptional oral and written communication skills, including experience with public speaking and presentations.

  • Must be a highly motivated individual with the ability to take initiative, working independently and as a team player.

  • Must have experience that illustrates attention to detail and accuracy, ability to work with integrity and confidentiality, and ability to meet established deadlines.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two (2) years of experience in digital/social media communications, including planning and managing digital content.

  • Awareness of AIDB's logo and brand standards.

  • Understanding of graphic design principles.

  • Excellent knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram, Google+, and other social media best practices.

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Develop, manage, and implement social media strategies.

  • Manage and oversee digital media content.

  • Stay abreast of the latest social media best practices and technologies.

  • Formulate high-quality, creative content for digital media campaigns.

  • Build brand awareness for AIDB and units/departments within AIDB

  • Respond to comments on designated AIDB social media accounts.

  • Responsible for the coordination, messaging, and monitoring of all social media for AIDB and AIDB Foundation.

  • Review and approval of all unit/department use of logos.

  • Draft, review, and edit written content of website for AIDB and AIDB Foundation to ensure that content quality, accuracy, style, and voice meet institutional branding.

  • Internal coordination of Sights & Sounds media publication.

  • Work with other OIA Staff to establish electronic files in Team Drive (shared drive) for work completed (past and present) and ensure that AIDB and AIDB Foundation events, as well as Marketing/Community Relations projects, are scheduled on the media calendars and OIA calendar.

  • Coordination of all community tour schedules.

  • Ordering and maintaining inventory of marketing items for donor/event distribution.

  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule.

  • A sign language proficiency level of SURVIVAL according to the AIDB evaluation system must be obtained within the first thirty-six (36) months of employment.

  • Upon offer of employment, the applicant must submit to a fingerprint background check at an agency designated and paid by AIDB.

  • Perform other duties, including cross-campus duties, as assigned.

    SALARY: $53,599 - $71,503 Scale P1 Rank 52
