ABOUT THE ROLE.
The Mobile Regional Center provides a continuum of services to individuals from infancy through adulthood. Our Staff Drivers are an integral part of the Regional Center team by transporting individuals who are Blind/Visually Impaired, Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing, and DeafBlind to medical appointments, job-related activities, or other necessary appointments. These roles provide direct services to consumers and staff while demonstrating professionalism, confidentiality, compassion, and sound judgment. The Transportation Program is an essential service for our community, and the ideal candidate is passionate about service and helping others live a life without limits.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
Must possess a valid Alabama Driver's License and have and maintain auto insurance.
Must be able to be insured by the AIDB insurance carrier.
Must possess a good driving record with no record of DUI. The record will be checked for the previous 5 years.
Must have clean and reliable transportation.
Must pass the AIDB drug screening process.
Must have the ability to obtain and follow driving directions accurately and safely.
Must have proven computer and software experience equivalent to Google G-Suite, including Calendar, Sheets, Docs, and Drive.
Must be able to navigate phone applications (apps) and provide basic guidance to consumers navigating AIDB phone applications to request transportation.
Must be willing to work flexible hours, including early morning, nights, and weekends, with occasional overnight travel.
Must have a past work record that demonstrates a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
Must be flexible in dealing with work assignments and unexpected interruptions.
Must demonstrate ability to take initiative, anticipate problems, follow through, and meet established deadlines.
Must demonstrate pleasant telephone and interpersonal communication skills.
Must be able to bend, stoop, and lift 25 lbs.
Must possess a demonstrated ability to understand and follow verbal, signed, and/or written instructions.
Must possess a professional appearance and demeanor.
Must have a strong attendance record.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Current valid Alabama CDL with Passenger (P) or School Bus (S) endorsements, and DOT Physical
Experience working with individuals who are Blind/Visually Impaired, Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing, and DeafBlind.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Upon offer of employment, the applicant must submit to a fingerprint background check at an agency designated and paid by AIDB.
SALARY: $15.69 - $18.30 Scale C5 Rank 32
$23.65 Scale S1 Rank HS - CDL
When on a driving assignment that requires to drive a CDL, you will be paid CDL pay.
260 Days; Direct deposit is required; bi-monthly payroll
