ABOUT THE ROLE

Our employees are our most valuable resource. The assistant dining room supervisor reports to and assist the Food Service Manager. This role is responsible for assisting and supervising in: food preparation, meal service, employee supervision, inventory, ordering food/supplies, preparing weekly deposits, help maintain a safe and sanitary food service operation, and perform duties as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have one of the following:
  1. Two (2) successful consecutive years of food service supervisory experience in the last 10 years.
  2. Extensive college course work in related field.
  3. One (1) year of successful food service experience within AIDB operation



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Obtained Servsafe Certification.
  • Two (2) years of food service supervisor experience in a school or residential setting with quantity food preparation and service activities in large commercial or institutional kitchen in the last ten (10) years.



POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • May be required to have valid driver license and may be required to be covered by AIDB insurance carrier.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include nights and weekends.
  • Must attend ServSafe Food Safety training and sit for the certification exam within in three (3) months of employment.
  • Must have the ability to teach and train staff.
  • Must have ability to supervise the work of others; and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, subordinates and all other persons.
  • Must have basic computer skills and/or the ability to learn them within 60 days.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with staff, students, and administration.
  • A sign language proficiency level of SURVIVAL PLUS according to the AIDB evaluation system must be obtained within the first thirty-six (36) months of employment.
  • Upon offer of employment, the applicant must submit to a fingerprint background check at an agency designated and paid by AIDB

SALARY: $14.75- $17.12 Scale C1 Rank 28

This is a non-exempt position and is subject to overtime and/or compensatory time provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
