Basic Requirements:
  • Must be eligible to hold state licensure In Athletic Training.
  • Proof of National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) Board of Certification (BOC) certification.
  • Must be physically able to assist students as required.
  • Must hold a First Aid and CPR certification and maintain current certification.
  • Must hold AED Certification.
  • NATA Board of Certification (BOC) Certified or able to sit for NATA Board of Certification (BOC).
  • Exceptional Communication Skills.
  • Maybe required to obtain a CDL bus driver's license.
  • A minimum sign language proficiency level of SURVIVAL according to the AIDB evaluation system must be obtained within the first six (6) months of employment. Sign language proficiency level of INTERMEDIATE according to the AIDB evaluation system must be obtained within the first twelve (12) months of employment. Sign language proficiency level of INTERMEDIATE PLUS according to the AIDB evaluation system must be obtained within the first twenty four (24) months of employment.



Preferred Requirements:
  • Experience as an Athletic Trainer is desired.
  • A Bachelor's degree In Athletic Training is desired.
  • A Master's degree In Athletic Training is desired.


Performance Responsibilities:

  • Must be willing to work with administration and coaches to develop a schedule to work with youth programs at ASB, ASD, and HKS.
  • Maintain Athletic Trainer certification in accordance with the NATA Board of Certification (BOC) guidelines.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule. Athletic Training will require after school hours and weekends
  • Must attend AHSAA and other required coaches and athletic trainer clinics to include the AHSAA summer coaches clinics.
  • Attend professional development to stay up-to-date with all new student-athletes requirements to participate in championship sporting events (NHSAA, AHSAA, etc.)
  • May be asked to attend SCASB and Mason Dixon athletic trips.
  • Must coordinate athletic training schedules with the principal of ASB, ASD and HKS.
  • Maintain a clean and sterile training and rehab area/room.
  • Report competition results and provide documentation to ASB, ASD, and HKS administration.
  • Work in coordination with AIDB Health and Clinical Services Medical Personnel including AIDB Nurses making regular reports related to injuries, therapy, etc.
  • Attend annual medication training to obtain and maintain certification to administer medication as per AIDB policy.
  • Must provide supervision of athletes at all times.
  • Restore or replace equipment as needed (place orders for supplies, materials and equipment as needed).
  • Coordinate with coaches and administration to provide a list of participants to the school nurse when leaving campus.
  • Communicate with coaches about practice and game schedules (dates and times) to properly provide adequate care for the student-athletes.
  • Collaborate with ASB, ASD, and HKS Recreational Specialist and administration to develop and implement safe and healthy physical activities that encourage a healthy lifestyle.
  • Coordinate with administration and coaches to secure and check current, signed parental permissions/releases/physicals required for participation. All AHSAA paperwork must be current and on file for eligibility purposes.
  • Provide and maintain a safe and secure physical environment at all times.
  • Provide appropriate medical support at all times.
  • Be present to provide athletic training at home and away events for ASB, ASD and HKS working out any conflicts with athletic directors and/or principals.
  • Provide periodic checks of athletic injuries and therapies. Make recommendations related to level of participation.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Accreditation or Principal.


SALARY: $49,596 - $69,111 Scale E3 Rank 56



207-day position



Direct deposit is required

This is an exempt position, and is not subject to overtime or compensatory provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
